Cellular Backup Router
Price $490.00
Why is the Pepwave worth almost $500? Because if your phones and Internet are down, you may as well send everyone home!
A few other VoIP companies provide cellular backup, but there with some important missing features that they cannot provide without the capabilities of the pepwave combined with our VPN concentrators in our data centers.
Most providers only protect the IP phones with the backup. So when your primary Internet fails the phones come back up, but your web orders and credit card processing are down.
With PizzaCloud, we protect the phones, POS system and credit cards. So everything stays up.
Most providers are only installing a simple cellular backup modem at your store. What this means is that when the primary Internet fails the phones disconnect, even dropping calls in progress. Then the cellular backup comes up, the phones reconnect...after a few minutes you are back up. Then when the primary Internet comes up and it switches back, the phones go down and back up again!
With PizzaCloud, using the SpeedFusion VPN connection the cellular is always up, and the pepwave already has the routes in place, ready to go. It is just not sending anything over the cellular.
But the instant your primary Internet fails, or even gets congested the pepwave snaps the phone calls over to the cellular route so quickly that it does not even drop calls in progress, much less have the phones go offline for four or five minutes.
I know...that may sound complicated (And my sales guys are looking over my shoulder saying "NO! You will just confuse people! Too much information..").
But the diagram below should make it very clear: With the Pepwave in place we are able to protect the phones, credit card processing, web order flow and any other critical connections from failures of your primary Internet.
As Peplink has brought new devices to market we have switched from the original MAX-BR1 to the Balance 20x. This newer unit is expandable, includes 1G WAN and LAN ports and 900mb throughput. This means that it can handle the most demanding high speed Internet traffic without slowing you down.
